Players with their Dishes

Congratulations to the  four rugby legends who battled it out at Scrum Dine With Me – an incredible charity cook-off dinner at the Cinnamon Kitchen in Devonshire Square. Under the guidance of Executive Chef Vivek Singh, Jason Leonard OBE, Martin Offiah MBE, Lee Mears and Nick Easter swapped their England kit for chef whites to each prepare one of four courses.
Hosted by Sky Sports News presenter Millie Clode, the player’s efforts were first judged by food critics Charles Campion, Kate Spicer, Humayun Hussain and Richard Vines. With opposing opinions and heated debate, it was the diners that made the final decision, championing Jason Leonard as their winning chef for his main of roast rack of lamb with mint and onion sauce.
Raising in excess of £15,000 for Wooden Spoon, a rugby charity supporting mentally and physically disadvantaged children, the evening was a roaring success. Jason Leonard commented: “Scrum Dine With Me is such a fantastic idea, I was thrilled to be involved. However, when I put on the chef whites and saw the scale of the kitchen I had some serious pre-match nerves. It was hard work and the competition tough, but at the end of night the best man won. Wooden Spoon is an excellent charity and I look forward to the next food fight.”

Well done Jason!
